I have to say that I am less than enamoured with his talky, jokey writing style but the facts are clear and he is very straightforward and methodical in his explanations, exactly what is needed for what is, after all, a practical text book. So, sight unseen, I chose Scott Kelby’s Lightroom book over other possibilities. It delivered. The presets that come with the book via download from his website are welcome too. There are some interactive lessons also, but I understood enough to work on my own photos, so did not use them. His book has greatly improved my understanding of Lightroom 4. I had a jokey lecturer at college too, he used inane analogies about beer drinking and football. Scott Kelby, to me, is like the American version of that lecturer. Annoying – yes, but passionate about his subject, and I learnt a lot. Must have book if you have Lightroom.
